This famous chef will be a guest on Rhapsody of the Sea serving up some of his culinary magic for our group. He has also been invited to teach a class or two while at sea! Stay tuned!!

Chef Chito Arreola Started cooking at a very young age with his father at the family Restaurant in Akron Iowa and found himself working at major sporting events such as Kentucky Derby, US OPEN, NASCAR, PGA, NBA Finals, Super bowl, All Star Games, Olympics and many more, Arreola has been part of opening stadiums, restaurants and arenas. One of Chef Chito’s recent adventures was moving to Africa to open up the First Mexican Restaurant in West Africa and being one of the private chefs for the president of Gabon, As an Executive Chef for the first Family also had to oversee and Indian, Italian, Gabonese Restaurants, SKY BAR rooftop tapas bar as well as a gelato parlor. Chef Arreola has been awarded several accolades throughout his career and many articles in magazine and was named the pioneer of Mexican food in Africa, Coming back home after 2 and a half years in Gabon Chef Chito landed in his hometown of Akron Iowa where he opened up a bar restaurant then moved to Colorado and has rolled out his new concept, La Xochitl with burger and tacos like you’ve never had them before! Along with traveling to big sporting event to offer his talents, Chef Chito offers consultation for restaurants.

Day 1 - Barcelona, Spain

Grab a steamy cortado in a sidewalk cafe’ and then take a morning walk along the Mediterranean shore. Take a plunge and swim with the sharks and one of Europe’s largest aquariums. Comb excavated relics at Barcelona City History Museum, or peruse extraordinary art collection. Gaudi is a must!

Day 2 - Cannes, France

Get a taste of the glamorous life in Cannes, France’s premier seaside resort town! Wander through the old town and see if you can spot a celebrity walking on the cobbled streets. Or dive into the history of the area including the 19th century art.

Day 3 - Rome, Italy

Experience dolce vita in the eternal city - recalling the ancient days of Rome while twirling forks full of pasta in a trattoria.

From exotic Asian flavors at Izumi and reimagined steakhouse classics at Chops Grille℠, to traditional Tuscan dishes at Giovanni's Table, this is one flavor fest you definitely want to try. Stand in awe of paintings by Italian masters and soak of Trastevere’s backstreet charm. Discover Vatican City’s spiritual charm. Or ride past centuries old basilicas in a 3-wheeled Ape Calessino.

Day 4 - Naples, Capri, Italy

The 3rd largest Italian city and one of the oldest in Europe! Naples combines deep history with modern verve. Check out the extravagant Royal Palace, the former home of the Royalty, with its lush tapestries. People watch from a street-side cafe with a glass of vino and slice of classic Margherita pizza. Then head to Herculaneum to visit the ruins dating back to 79 A.D.

Day 5 - Sicily, Italy

Catania’s warm embrace invites you to relax and immerse yourself in it’s splendid Mediterranean climate. Take time to enjoy the diverse architecture. See Catania’s ancient roots in the Roman amphitheater built mainly of black lava. When you are ready to relax after a day of sight-seeing, head to the piazza to enjoy the lively city’s exuberance.

Day 6 - Cruising at Sea

Can’t miss favorites are the rock climbing wall and lawn games. Of course, enjoy a cocktail by the pool with friends and family or find a quiet nook onboard with your favorite reading material!


Day 7 - Split, Croatia

Split’s town center is compact so you can see its sights in a morning. This includes Diocletian’s Palace, the large and ancient fortress that constitutes approximately 1/2 of Split’s old town; and Rive, its infamous seaside promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. In the afternoon, relax at one of Split’s beaches or do a 1/2 day cruise to Brac Island.

Day 8 - Venice, Italy

Venice’s serene waterscape overflows with adventure. Nibble on cicchetti in a buzzing bacaro bar, then walk it off with a jaunt through verdant Giardini Publici. Grab a bottle of bubbly Prosecco for sipping on a classic gondola ride. And top off the day with a seafood-centric meal in a canal-side ristorante.
